Professional Therapy Dogs:  Provides specific physical or therapeutic functions, under the

persons who have disabilities. "Professional therapy dog" does not include dogs used by
volunteers for pet visitation therapy.
Our Owner-Trained Program

This program is designed for owners who wish to train their own assistance or professional
therapy dog. The program can be very demanding, and requires serious commitment. The
feeling of achievement can be fulfilling and empowering.

Please understand that while our trainers will work to maximize your chances for success,
assistance or professional therapy dog training is very demanding and we cannot guarantee that
an assistance or professional therapy dog candidate will successfully be able to pass our
certification requirements for public access.
Our Certification Process

Paws-Up requires that all of our dogs pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Public Access
Testing.  Service and hearing dogs must pass additional testing demonstrating their dog’s
ability to mitigate their individual disability.  Additionally, professional therapy dogs will have
completed
Paws-Up Pet Partners ® Animal Assisted Therapy testing. Certification testing is
Paws-Up, Inc., way of ensuring that each team meets our high training standards.
