Tools for making a mouth clicker
You will need good hand strength and dexterity to follow the directions below. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
STEP 1:
Mark your cuts with an ink pen.
This mark begins 1/8" from the
base of the box clicker.
STEP 2:
Carefully begin cutting using a
firm yet gentle backwards
motion to make your first cuts.
The cutting edge should always
be away from your hand to
prevent injury.
STEP 3:
Begin cutting down the side.
Being careful to not cut into the
metal tongue.
Caution, do not
cut any more than 3/4" of the
clicker off as doing so might
result in the clicker not working.
STEP 4:
Once all the cuts are completed,
use needle nose plyers to help
remove the end section to
expose metal tongue. This will
require a little careful tugging
and twisting.
STEP 5:
The newly cut plastic edges will
be jagged and sharp you may
choose to file them down some
as shown.
STEP 6:
Use electrical tape to cover sharp
edges of the metal tongue and
the newly cut plastic.  The tape
will also help to prevent the
mouth clicker from slipping out
from your teeth.
THE COMPLETED CLICKER!

The trick to using your newly made mouth clicker
is to hold it between your teeth so you may still talk
some to your dog.  This may take a little practice at
first, but you'll get the hang of it quickly.
