Our Mission:

An educational newsletter devoted to promoting a positive relationship between humans and dogs.  
Material includes current information from professionals in the fields of training, behavior modification,
veterinary care, healthcare, access issues and other related topics in the area of assistance and therapy
dogs.  Articles benefit not only those partnered with these special dogs, but also medical professionals,
rehabilitation specialists, pet owners, dog trainers, businesses, and other interested groups and
individuals.
IMPORTANT NEWS: Beginning with the Winter 2007 issue the newsletter will be published online in PDF format*. Subscription
rates will be reflecting this change.
All new and renewing subscribers must provide a valid email address.

Jeanne Hampl RN:  Author, pet and assistance dog trainer and founder of the Assistance Dog Club of Puget Sound
on assistance dogs.

Patricia Hannah Kallen Ph.D:  Child and Developmental Psychologist on incorporating therapy dogs in a
clinical setting.

Summer McDonald OTR/L:  Occupational Therapist on safety issues for Service Dog handlers.

Myrna Milani BS, DVM:  Acclaimed veterinarian, speaker, and author of numerous books and articles on animal
behavior, contributed articles on caring for dogs and the human-animal bond.

Lt. Joel Walton CPDT:  Author of Positive Puppy Training Works and Labrador Retrievers for Dummies on canine
aggression issues.

Debbie Winkler CPDT CDBC:  Assistance dog trainer and director of Dog Ears and Paws Inc., on assistance dog
training.
All Proceeds Go To:
Paws-Up, Inc., a  501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that advocates the use of positive reinforcement, non-aversive training
methods and promoting a positive relationship between humans and dogs for the assistance and therapy dog community.  
Proceeds from the newsletter will further Paws-Up’s goals of educating and supporting professionals involved with assistance
and therapy dogs; quality training assistance and therapy dogs and promoting public awareness of these dogs and their functional
benefits.  Paws Up Inc.’s programs, while based in Kansas, serve people and professionals involved with assistance and therapy
dogs internationally.
